Different types of air

Healthy Air
The gases, which make up our air, enter into changing combinations with each other. Under the influence of natural and artificial radiation, e.g. as a result of lightning in thunderstorms, ions are generated, i.e. electrically charged particles. In normal air the positive and negative air ions are about equally balanced.

The greater the proportion of the negatively charged particles (negative ions) per cubic centimetre, the healthier the air. Negative ions have the capacity to bond with environmental toxins, pollen, smoke particles, fungal spores etc. and make them fall to the ground. Thereby the air is cleansed. As the secretion of the mucous membranes and the motion of the kinocilia in the nose decreases, the oxygen intake increases so that the breathing frequency slows down. For example near the sea and in the mountains, there are about 1 000 negative ions per cubic centimetre in the air compared with less then 500 negative ions in the city.

Amongst others the following biological processes are facilitated by the air:

    • Obtaining energy in the cells. By the breaking down of nutrients with the help of oxygen.
    • Maintaining of all bodily functions.
    • Elimination of waste products from the metabolism.
    • Regulation of the body temperature.

Good air is also an important factor for our psyche and well-being.

Living Accommodation Air
Besides industrial and vehicle exhaust gases, which penetrate from outside into our living space, the fumes from plastics, carpets, artificial fibres, cigarette smoke, dry heating fumes etc. impair the air that we breath. Above all, static charges and electro-magnetic fields, formaldehyde and solvents from paints, adhesives, and other gases from furniture, walls, ceilings and floors, reduce the number of important negative ions in our air enormously. Therefore in our homes, there can often be fewer than 100 negative ions per cubic centimetre.

In addition, the ratio of positive and negative ions in our homes can be shifted in the direction of the unhealthy positive ions by the so-called geopathogenic fields:

              • Water veins
              • Earth faults
              • Ore deposits
              • Hartmann grid
              • Curry grid
              • PWL

Thus, we all have, as a result of all these influences in our apartments and houses, an excessive proportion of positive ions. The harmful influences on the well-being of many people, even on their social behaviour (e.g. aggressive), are well-known and documented.

Office Air
Not only as a result of air pollution and meteorological influences has there been a shift in the levels of positive and negative ions. Above all, the modern way of building offices has had a great impact on this. The use of electronic equipment (computers, air conditioning, copiers, fluorescent lighting etc) is added to this. Consequently we have in our offices often only 30 negative ions or fewer per cubic centimetre.

The results can be:

    • Poor concentration
    • Nervousness
    • Irritability
    • Drying out of the nasal mucous membranes and hence greater susceptibility to respiratory organ infections
    • Anxiety and susceptibility to stress

Positive ions breathed in impact negatively on the nerve messenger substance serotonin, and hence on our hormone release, and emotional behaviour.

The consequences can be:

              • Dizzy spells
              • Premature fatigue
              • Breathing problems
              • Fall off in performance

In the long-term, circulatory and / or allergy problems can occur resulting in chronic illnesses.
